Kate Chruscicka
Kate first picked up the violin at the age of six, after hearing Vanessa Mae's music. This was the start of a lifelong obsession with both violin music and live performances. Kate is classically trained, with a Masters degree in Violin Performance from the Royal Northern College of Music (one of the UK's most prestigious musical conservatoires), and a BA Hons degree in Music from the University of Leeds.
She studied under a number of world-famous tutors that have included Mieczyslaw Szlezer, Lukas David, Miranda Playfair (co-leader of Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra), Raimonda Koco (Opera North) and Leland Chen (a Menuhin pupil).
Kate consistently delights audiences — often several times per week — acoustically, or with her one-of-a-kind clear electric violin (hand-made by world famous British violin maker, Ted Brewer). She has performed at amazing locations across the UK and around the world, from intimate to extensive gatherings. Beyond lighting up live venues, Kate’s creativity blossoms in the recording studio, where she has created several albums—transforming the violin from just a traditional instrument into a masterpiece of classical and modern styles.
